The Rain That Fell

image

The rain that fell
Took hold of our line
Soaked our clothes dry
Made our bark wet
And our backs cold

The rain that fell
Made the leaves cry
And the trees danced
The iroko whistled
And i watched in awe.
As i slipped down the drain

The rain that fell
Washed our love drip
Made our vigor swell
We danced to hop
Our mediocre mind
Gave in to racism

The rain that fell
Made cupid bleed
Our blessings stripped
The trace thinned
We tipped to the street
At 3 in the morning
