12 Days of Glory- Day 2 {Feed your Faith}

“Grace is the same as power, prosperity and victory. God is able to make all grace abound to you, but it’s only accessible by faith. You must believe God and take steps, even when you do not see any results yet”

Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo

Jim Burns said – “I feel as if I need something I can see, touch and understand—how can I get rid of these doubts?”

You are definitely not alone. Maybe you’re just more open and honest about your feelings than a lot of people you know. In fact, I would say that most Christ-followers have at one time or another struggled with doubts. I know sincere Christians who have been believers for years and still struggle. Doubt and unbelief are big problems for Christians. They are negative and discouraging. They cause us to make poor choices, which make life difficult. They cause us to say things like, “I wish I could lose weight,” or “I wish my kids would behave,” or “I wish I could keep my house clean,” or “I wish I had better relationships.” We need to stop wishing for things and make up our minds that God will help us have wisdom, make good choices, and overcome our trials and tribulations if we will put our faith in Him, because doubt and unbelief interrupts faith.

Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo preached:

Hebrews 3:12 (AMP)

“Faith has to be in the present continuous tense, and not in the past tense in order for you to be able to obtain the unthinkable. An unbelieving heart is one that refuses to cleave to, trust in and rely on God. As a Christian, you need to train your mind to be aligned with your spirit. The moment you get born again, you need to reprogram your mind in order for it to be in line with your spirit”. “A carnal person isn’t an unbeliever, but a believer who refuses to train his mind to be in line with the word of God. He lives “situation-ally”, rather than “by revelation-ally”. – This made me think a lot of people have the choice to believe by not aligning with God’s words.

“It is possible for God’s word not to be apparent in your life if you do not have faith. God is no respecter of persons; He only respects faith, therefore you need to have faith” {Romans 4:18}. Everything you are praying for has already been obtained and made ready for you. There’s nothing you could ever ask God for that isn’t already available. It is when you fast and pray that you are granted access to what has already being made available to you. The only way to access your inheritance is by faith! {Romans 5:1-2}. “It is possible to have faith and also have unbelief. Faith as tiny as a mustard seed can move the biggest mountains” {Mark 9:24, Matthew 17:20}.

Another way we struggle with doubt and unbelief is by thinking God won’t help us because we haven’t done everything right. Or believing that God is willing to help other people but not me. But God doesn’t expect perfection from us. God works in our lives through faith. He wants us to trust Him, believe in Him, have faith in Him, and have a hopeful, positive attitude. He wants us to expect Him to do good things in our lives. Every day you need to say, “Something good is going to happen to me today. I can hardly wait to see what God is going to do in my life today!” And you especially need to speak this when the devil is trying to flood your mind with doubts. The way you fight the devil is by opening your mouth and saying what God says. Don’t just let the devil use your mind as a dumping site.

We can respond to the thoughts the devil brings to our mind with the truth of God’s Word. We can feed our faith with the Word, rather than feeding doubt with the devil’s lies. And when you spend time with people who feed your faith, it will encourage your faith in God.
